Johnny Falloon is a five-piece experimental post-punk group featuring John Edmondson (vocals), Joseph Clementi (drums), Matthew Greer (bass), Toni Hunlen (sampler/synthesizer), and Scott Kelley (saxophone). Formed in 2022, the group combines unconventional bass lines, frantic percussion, contorted saxophone, and electronic textures with Edmondson's unpredictable vocal delivery. Their second album, Esoterrorism, was recorded over four days outside Athens, Georgia, and explores themes of fear, magic, the body, and its relationship to an increasingly digital world. Rooted in post-punk, their sound extends into noise and experimental improvisation.
Animal, Surrender! is a Brooklyn-based instrumental duo featuring bassist Peter Kerlin (Sunwatchers, Chris Forsyth & Solar Motel Band) and drummer Rob Smith (Rhyton, Pigeons, Grey/Smith). Formed in 2023, the group combines elements of post-rock, avant-folk, and experimental music through hypnotic bass patterns, intricate polyrhythms, loping grooves, and sparse electronics. Their music moves between repetition, improvisation, and rhythmic interplay.
