Philadelphia's Hiroe (pronounced hero-way) blends post-rock and post-metal through layered guitars, soaring melodies, and heavy, atmospheric riffs. Drawing influence from Radiohead, Deftones, Mogwai, and Isis, the band is led by guitarist Eric Kusanagi, who has previously shared stages with Caspian, Sparta, Shiner, and The Appleseed Cast. Signed to Pelagic Records (Mono, The Ocean Collective), Hiroe released their debut album Wrought in 2022 and performed at Post Fest 2024.
Their follow-up album, Wield, was produced and mixed by Mario Quintero (Spotlights, Pallbearer) and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, Russian Circles). Building on the themes of loss and creation explored on Wrought, the record further develops the band's combination of melodic post-rock and heavier, guitar-driven arrangements.
